Chair/Co-opted Governor

I have lived in the village of Moor Row for the past 40 years and am also a councillor for Egremont Town Council representing Egremont North which covers the areas of Moor Row and Bigrigg. I worked at Sellafield for 25 years until 2002 when I became self-employed in the building trade. I enjoy walks with my dogs and really enjoy the roles representing the community. I came to the governors as my son went through the school and I feel really passionate to make sure that the young people in our catchment area fulfil their educational needs to give them a platform to carry on for life's plans.

Vice Chair/Co-Opted Governor

I am married with 3 children; 2 of them went to Moor Row School from Nursery through to Year 6 - they are now both at a local secondary school. I am currently the Technical Director of WANO (World Association of Nuclear Operators) whilst on secondment for two years having spent my entire working career in the Nuclear Industry at Sellafield Ltd. I became a governor to give something back to the school which has looked after my children for the past 10 years. I live locally and want to see the school continue to grow and develop over the coming years and I believe that by being on the governing board I will be able to offer support to achieve this.

Co-opted Governor

I am proud to be a member of the governing body at Moor Row School. I live in Moor Row with my husband and two children, who are currently students at the school. As a parent, I am invested in the success and well-being of our school community. I believe that a thriving school is essential for fostering the growth and development of our children. Professionally, I work as a Principal Engineer, where my responsibilities include producing, managing and maintaining standards. This experience has equipped me with valuable skills that I believe are directly applicable to the role of a school governor. I am always looking for ways to support our local community, this includes being a member of the school’s PTA. I am enthusiastic about working collaboratively with fellow governors, staff, and parents to help Moor Row School continue to thrive and adapt to the needs of our students.
